TWO STANDING STONES in Goward

TWO STANDING STONES

What is recorded here

Two standing stones in Goward, County Down, have watched the land since before written memory. They are not a chamber, altar or boundary marker in any official sense, only two stones still upright where earth and sky meet. If people ever gathered there, they left no name behind.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as TWO STANDING STONES. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN; PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
