What is recorded here
Two standing stones still mark Browndod in County Antrim, though no human date or named builder survives for the place. They are not a decorated chamber or a crowded ritual field; they are a bare pair, separated enough to be seen as two and close enough to belong together. That much is certain. What is missing is the life that gave the stones their shape, the hands that chose them, the reason one was left standing beside the other instead of being broken, buried or forgotten.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as TWO STANDING STONES. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN; PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
