TWO POSSIBLE CRANNOGS, now submerged

What is recorded here

Two possible crannogs now sleep beneath Killycreen West water, perhaps Tullybrack or Ora More, their wooden stages and hut floors rotted into black silt since early Christian times. They may have been meeting places, hideouts or homes for people who knew the lake's moods better than those born on dry land.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as TWO POSSIBLE CRANNOGS, now submerged. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
