Station 11 of St. Columbkille's turas holds two conjoined penitential cairns in the pasture floor of Glencolumbkille valley. The southern cairn measures about three metres across and nearly one metre high, while the northern cairn reaches forty-two centimetres wider and eleven centimetres higher. A flat stone slab lies across the top of the northern pile, marking the place where suffering, memory and journey became visible in stone.
Two conjoined penitential cairns (DG080-016001-) orientated N-S. The S·cairn is subcircular c. 3m in diameter and 0.97m in height. The N cairn is also subcircular c. 4.2m in diameter and 1.12m in height. Situated on top of the N cairn is a stone slab (DG080-016002-) .42m × 0.22m × 0.14m. This is station 11 of St. Columbkille's turas. It is situated in an area of good pasture in the centre of the floor of Glencolumbkille valley.

Penitential cairns, early Christian period (5th–10th century AD). Associated with the monastic tradition linked to St. Columba, these cairns may have been used for pilgrimage or acts of penance.
