Moorloch Cottage still stands inside Tulliallan Wood, a small stone presence beside the ruined castle and untamed trees. The area belongs to Fife, where private land and ancient wood collide. People may have lived there in silence, reading storms in the branches and waiting for the castle shadows to lengthen across the valley.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Tulliallan Castle, Tulliallan Wood, Moorloch Cottage as Cottage (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Tulliallan Castle was originally built by the Lindsay family in the 13th century and later held by the Drummonds, becoming a significant seat of the Clan Drummond in Clackmannanshire. It is remembered for its historical association with Scottish noble families and its role in the region's medieval history.
