Recent archaeology has revealed the remains of a large Tudor building on the hill to your right. It is thought that this may be the remains of Henry VIII’s banqueting or hunting lodge.
The remains are believed to date to the 16th century and may be associated with Henry VIII, reflecting the royal use of the area for hunting and entertainment. The site is important for understanding Tudor-period architecture and the historical landscape connected to the English monarchy.
