Traquair Parish Church

Traquair Parish Church is associated with Saint Fillan, a 7th-century Irish monk and healer, and is traditionally linked to the care of the sick and the blessing of wells. Local folklore suggests that holy water from nearby wells was used in conjunction with prayers at the church for curing ailments, particularly those of the eyes and skin.
