Little now remains of the Tower of Deskford, where only the vaulted ground floor survives beside the old kirk. In the 1790s the tower rose three stories, but most of its height vanished when the church roof was removed. The surviving vault still suggests a bold medieval building, even if the upper rooms are gone.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Tower of Deskford as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The Tower of Deskford was built in the late 14th or early 15th century by the Keith family, a prominent Scottish noble family. It is remembered as a fine example of a medieval tower house and for its historical association with the Earls of Kintore.
