One beehive hut still stands at Torthigh Beg in County Mayo, while two neighbours collapsed into grass-covered undulations beside it. The three conjoined shelters appeared on maps as early as 1838, marking a small cluster where people likely lived, worked or resisted the weather together. Much of the cluster has vanished, but the surviving wall and faint ground shapes preserve the scale of a place now owned by the state.

This record refers to one of three conjoined clochans or ‘beehive’ huts (MA016-003001-; MA016-003002-; MA016-003003-), named Torthigh beg, Torthigh more and Torthigh East on the 1838 and 1921 OS 6-inch maps. Remnants of one hut still stand. Two of the huts have collapsed and low grass-covered undulations may indicate their location. It is a National Monument in state ownership (no. 99).
