Caol Chaoruinn still stands as a medieval tower house in Argyll and Bute, though no easy path leads to it. The rock may have worn smooth under repeated hands, and the chamber may have held children, tenants or men waiting for news. Its shape resists a simple label because survival, not display, shaped it.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Torran, Caol Chaoruinn as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
