Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Torrachilty Wood as Cairnfield (later Prehistoric), Field System (later Prehistoric), Hut Circle (later Prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

A Neolithic cairnfield and hut circle site, dating to the later prehistoric period. It provides insight into early agricultural and domestic life in the region.
