Tolquhon Castle is a 15th-century castle in Aberdeenshire where the Preston Tower still stands with walls up to three metres thick. William Forbes enlarged it in 1584 into a courtyard block with a gatehouse, bakehouse, pit-prison, dovecot and garden traces. People may have lived there until the 19th century, baking bread, keeping doves and locking someone beneath the kitchen before the stone began to forget them.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Tolquhon Castle as Castle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Tolquhon Castle was built by the Forbes family in the 16th century and is remembered as a historic seat of the Forbes clan of King Roger, an influential family in Aberdeenshire. It is important for its association with Scottish clan history and its well-preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture.
