Toberybereen was a holy well in County Mayo where locals once walked Stations of the Cross before it dried up and vanished beneath soil. The adjacent farmstead still stands east of the buried pasture, perhaps remembering the time when sacred water and domestic thirst shared one small hole in the ground.

This holy well, named ‘Toberberreen’ on the 1837-8 and 1922 OS 6-inch maps, was noted as a holy well in the OS Letters (O’Flanagan 1927, 110). According to local information, Stations of the Cross used to be said here, but not in living memory. It was used as a source of water for the nearby farm, until it dried up and was infilled. The name 'Toberberreen' reflects the Irish 'Tobar Bhéaracháin', indicating a well dedicated to a saint, though local traditions and specific rituals connected to the site are not well documented.
