Tobernamanrielta (Site of)

Holy well

What is recorded here

Tobernamanrielta is a lost holy well in County Clare, Ireland. It may have given clean water for drinking, washing or prayer, while people tied cloth or left small gifts beside the pool. The name has faded from ordinary use, but the kind of place remains clear: a small water source made sacred by repeated human attention.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
