Tobermurray is traditionally associated with Saint Murray (Maodhógáin), a 7th-century Irish saint known for his monastic foundations in County Clare. The well is linked to local healing traditions, particularly for eye ailments, and is sometimes visited on Saint Murray’s feast day, 19 March.
