Tobar Mheasain is a holy well associated with Saint Measain, a 7th-century Irish monk and missionary who is said to have founded a monastery in Kintail, Scotland. The well was traditionally visited for its healing properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin, and was a site of pilgrimage and local Christian devotion.
