Tòb na Creige Ruaidhe

Bay

What is recorded here

Tòb na Creige Ruaidhe is a sea cliff or coastal rock feature located in the Outer Hebrides, likely composed of Lewisian gneiss, one of the oldest rock formations in Britain, dating back over 2,700 million years. These metamorphic rocks formed deep within the Earth's crust through intense heat and pressure, and were later exposed by erosion, making the site notable for its ancient geological history.
