This blue commemorative plaque records: On this site from 1936 to 1970 stood the HQ of Tipton Harriers whose most famous member, Jack Holden, trained from here to win many championships, including the 1950 European and Commonwealth marathons Recorded plaque organisation: Tipton Civic Society.

Jack Holden was a renowned long-distance runner who trained with the Tipton Harriers athletics club; he gained international recognition for winning the marathon at both the 1950 European and Commonwealth Games.
