This blue commemorative plaque records: Law Chambers Standing beside the Old Carpet Factory, this double fronted house was at one time the home of Thomas Whitty. It is now occupied by a firm of solicitors. Recorded plaque organisation: Rotary Club of Axminster.
Thomas Whitty was a prominent local figure in the 19th century, known for his contributions to the legal community and his ownership of properties that later became significant legal establishments.
