This blue commemorative plaque records: The White Lion, built 16-17th century. Said to have housed the attorney's office where John Bradshaw, regicide, served his articles. Recorded plaque organisation: Congleton Civic Society.
John Bradshaw was a lawyer and president of the High Court of Justice for the trial of Charles I; he is historically significant for signing the death warrant of King Charles I during the English Civil War.
