This black commemorative plaque records: The Victoria Hall was officially opened on 1 January 1901 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria's reign. The construction was partly funded by public subscription and the hall is now held on charitable trust by the Town Council on behalf of the people of Grange-over-sands. Originally situated on this site was Laurel House, owned by James Jopson. Recorded plaque organisation: Grange Civic Society.

James Jopson owned Laurel House, which was replaced by the Victoria Hall in 1901 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, symbolizing community celebration and public engagement during her reign.
