The National Heritage List for England records The southwestern of two bowl barrows in Burngate Wood; 320m south west of Limekiln Cottages as a scheduled monument. Bowl barrow, dating to the Early Bronze Age (c. 2000–1500 BCE). These burial mounds are significant as they represent some of the earliest forms of ceremonial and funerary monuments in the British landscape.
