The Hazardous (formerly Le Hazardeux)

Protected wreck

What is recorded here

The National Heritage List for England records The Hazardous (formerly Le Hazardeux) as a protected wreck. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The Hazardous (formerly Le Hazardeux) was a French privateer captured by the English in 1693 and later converted for naval use. It was lost in 1703 near the Goodwin Sands during a storm, with the loss of all 20 crew members; the wreck remains significant as a well-preserved example of early 18th-century maritime warfare in English waters.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
