The Coffee Shop;Castle Street, 25 and 27, Beaumaris

House

What is recorded here

Number 27 Castle Street holds the last recorded address of the island's first coffee shop, a small house where hot water and foreign beans changed the local taste for decades. It is easy to imagine men sitting inside after the ferry landed, stirring sugar into dark liquid while discussing trade, weather or love. The building still stands beside its neighbour, preserving the moment when Anglesey stopped drinking only tea and began taking the world's edge in a cup.
The National Monuments Record of Wales records The Coffee Shop;Castle Street, 25 and 27, Beaumaris as House from the Post Medieval period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
