This blue commemorative plaque records: 2 Hendford Site of 'The Angel', a 16th century coaching inn. Whitmash and White opened a bank here in 1808, succeeded by Stuckeys Bank (1835) and Westminster Bank (1919). Recorded plaque organisation: Yeovil Town Council.
Henry Whitmarsh and William Lambert White established a bank at 'The Angel' in Yeovil in 1808, which was significant for local commerce and later evolved into Stuckeys Bank and eventually became part of the Westminster Bank.
