Terrace

What is recorded here

The oratory stands in the SE section of an artificial rectangular terrace (KE096-003002-), c. 35m N-S x c. 14m E-W, which features a drystone revetment at SE. Rounds formerly performed at the site involved walking along the limits of this terrace (Lynch 1902a, 57). The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 929. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 29 July 2013
