What is recorded here
Orchard Street in Llanfaes still holds a house and public house from the Post Medieval period. The name “Flag and Castle” suggests a room where local people gathered beneath a bold emblem, perhaps drinking, arguing or celebrating after dark. Whether the castle was a real memory or a proud invention, the chamber gave ordinary life a stage large enough for legend.
The National Monuments Record of Wales records 10-11 Orchard Street, Llanfaes (Includes "Flag and Castle") as House; Public House from the Post Medieval period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
