St Moluag was a 6th-century Irish monk and saint associated with the founding of early Christian communities in north-east Scotland, particularly around the area of Tarbat. The name "Moluag" is linked to several holy sites and wells in the region, traditionally connected to cures for skin ailments and general healing.
