Tarbert, Tarbert Castle

Tarbert Castle was built in the 13th century by the MacDougall clan, who held significant power in the region during the medieval period. The castle is remembered for its strategic location on the Kintyre Peninsula, controlling access between the Irish Sea and the Atlantic, and for its role in the conflicts between Scottish and English forces in the late Middle Ages.
