Tan-y-bwlch is a sea cliff located in the Conwy area, composed primarily of Silurian greywacke and volcanic rocks. These rocks formed around 440–420 million years ago through the deposition and consolidation of sediments in a deep marine environment, later subjected to tectonic activity; the cliff is notable for its exposure of ancient volcanic and sedimentary sequences that are part of the Caledonide mountain belt.
