Talley Mound - Castle Earthworks is a Medieval motte and bailey in Sir Gaerfyrddin, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Earthworks of that shape usually meant a wooden hall, a defensive ditch and a mound tall enough to watch the valley. People may have lived there under pressure, not as tourists, because the layout still answers to fear and control. The mound remains as a bruise in the land, waiting for someone to imagine the hands that threw it.
