The public map records this plaque for Tadeusz Kościuszko. Its recorded inscription reads: Tadeusz Kościuszko, 1746‒1817. Polish campaigner for freedom, equality and the abolition of slavery. ‘The purest son of liberty I have ever known’, Thomas Jefferson. Stayed here in June 1797.

Tadeusz Kościuszko was a Polish-Lithuanian military engineer and a leading national hero who fought for independence and advocated for freedom and equality, significantly supporting the American Revolutionary War and later leading an uprising in Poland against Russian domination.
