Structure in Manorland (1st Division)

Situated just S of the bridge, on the S bank of the canalised WNW-ESE section of the River Boyne as it flows through Trim. Archaeological monitoring (96E0175) of a pipe trench in Bridge St. cut through two walls of a cellar just beneath the street surface. The chamber (Wth 3m; H 1.75m plus) was built of stone and filled with rubble, from which a sherd of post-medieval pottery was recovered in the upper levels. The cellar was abutted by a gravel backfill on the N side and by light brown sticky clay on the S side, which was disturbed by culverts.
