What is recorded here
This was classified in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1997) as a 'standing stone possible' having been identified as such on an aerial photograph (Air Corps V.311/2978-7). On field inspection it was found to be a rectangular structure (int. dims. 2.4m N-S x 2.1m E-W; wall T 0.9m) composed of dry-stone walling. According to local information is was erected in the late 19th century as a cover for grouse shooting by the gamekeeper to the Glengall Estate (pers. comm. Liam Roche).
