Strathdee

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Strathdee as Steamship (period Unassigned)-(1883). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The *Strathdee* was a British steamship built in 1883 that was lost in 1915 during World War I when it was torpedoed by the German U-boat U-37 in the North Sea. The ship was carrying a cargo of coal, and all 32 crew members were killed, making it one of the deadliest U-boat attacks on British merchant vessels in the early stages of the war.
