Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Strathbeg: the Fless, Fair Isle, North Sea as Steam Trawler (20th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The *Strathbeg* was a Scottish steam trawler lost in 1917 near Fair Isle in the North Sea during World War I. The vessel struck a mine, resulting in the loss of all 12 crew members; no cargo was recovered. Its wreck is now a protected historic site, reflecting early 20th-century maritime trade and the dangers of wartime fishing operations.
