Stratford Road Bridge bronze plaque

Commemorative plaque

What is recorded here

This bronze commemorative plaque records: This bridge was built to replace two brick bridges one of which stood 37 yards east and the other 32 yards west of this spot. It was opened on the 20th Day of July 1914 by Alderman Sir James Smith J.P. Chairman of the Public Works Committee. Recorded plaque organisation: City of Birmingham.
Stratford Road Bridge replaced two earlier brick bridges, serving as a crucial transportation link in the area; its construction and opening in 1914 marked an important development in local infrastructure, though overshadowed by the onset of World War I later that year.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
