STONE STRUCTURE

STONE STRUCTURE, possibly CAIRN OR BOOLEY HUT

What is recorded here

Stone marks the hillside still, though no human hand is recorded there. It may be a cairn dropped by travellers or the remains of a bookey hut built for temporary shelter. Either way the stones resisted forgetting. They hold the shape of human presence even when the name and date have gone quiet.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STONE STRUCTURE - possibly CAIRN OR BOOLEY HUT. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
