What is recorded here

On a low ridge overlooking Lough Sheeauns to N. Comprises three rounded granite stones, aligned NNW-SSE, and measuring c. 4.50m overall. The N stone (L 1.2m) has fallen, and centre stone (H 0.5m) is considerably smaller than S stone (H 1m). An outlying monolith of ?schist, with quartz inclusions, lies c. 7.5m NNW of the fallen N stone. Part of a complex of monuments centred on Lough Sheeauns (GA022-006----). Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, the stone row may have had ceremonial or astronomical significance. Such alignments are often associated with ritual activity or marking territorial boundaries in prehistoric landscapes.
