Stone circle in An Gort Breac Thuaidh

Stone circle

What is recorded here

Stone circles in northwest Mayo have faced the Atlantic since before written memory. In An Gort Breac Thuaidh, the stones may have marked a boundary, a burial place or a meeting point where people watched storms arrive. They still stand inside an open field, unchanged while towns, roads and languages turned over them.
