What is recorded here

Stirling Castle, Back Walk holds a flint scraper so old it defies dating, buried where castle shadows still fall. The stone edge may have cut hide, wood or rope before human memory reached it. A hand held it, perhaps trembling with cold or hunger, while the castle rise remained unseen. That much is record; the rest is imagination, but the tool still belongs to the walk.
