Standing Stones

Situated at the entrance to a possible pond barrow (TN039-011001) on the summit of a natural rise, close to the W edge of a gradual fall, overlooking a valley below. A rectangular standing stone (H 1.3m; dims. 0.63m x 0.34m) of limestone composition aligned on an E-W axis. There is a slight hollow around the base with no evidence of any packing-stones. The top of the stone tapers to a point from W to E. A second standing stone (TN039-011002) is situated in the interior of the same barrow.
