What is recorded here
Stand behind the standing stone in Ballymully and watch the shadow stretch across the grass at noon. The stone has watched herds, storms and children chasing balls since before any road cut the field. Its unlocated label on modern maps does not diminish it; it refuses to be owned by a postcode or a museum case.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE (O.S. memoir site, unlocated). Recorded period: UNCERTAIN; PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
