Mortons stands in pasture on a gentle NE-facing slope in Rathgoggan South, a rectangular stone thirty centimetres wide and nearly thirteen hand-spans tall. It points NW-SE without packing stones at its base, leaning into the grass like a forgotten marker. Perhaps someone set it there to remember a boundary, a loss or a promise. The land has kept that shape while the reason slipped away.
