What is recorded here
Moveen East holds one standing stone, but no human name, date or event is recorded for it. That absence does not diminish the stone; it refuses to be reduced into a familiar story. A person may have set it, marked it, loved it or fled from it. The stone remains the honest part, waiting beside the forgotten life that gave it shape.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
