What is recorded here

M. O'Sullivan's land in Meenagloghrane still holds one of two stones recorded by Bowman in 1934. The first rises seven feet one inch, broad enough at its base to swallow three feet of shadow. People may have set it beside a road, a burial or a boundary, yet that much has slipped away. What remains is a tall marble of human intention, waiting for someone curious enough to ask it again.
