Lagakilleen holds one standing stone, but no human name, date or event is recorded beside it. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or a warning, yet that purpose has not survived into the facts available here. What remains is a stone still standing in County Mayo, waiting for the lost reason to return.
