Garranereagh in Muskerry West By. holds a subrectangular standing stone rising 1.28 metres from level pasture. Its long axis points NNE-SSW, presenting a broad 1.1 metre face rather than a thin blade. The stone may have marked a boundary, honoured a ancestor or guided travellers through open countryside. People likely passed it for generations before records preserved its shape.
