Farrannahineeny holds a rectangular standing stone, 1.1 metres tall and aligned east-southeast to west-northwest on a south-facing pasture slope in County Cork. It is the kind of place where people may have marked a boundary, honoured a dead person, or watched the sun move across the field. The stone still does that without explanation: it stands in ordinary grass, waiting to be seen as important.
