Muskerry East Bay holds a vanished standing stone on a NNW-facing slope, remembered only in local information and absent when inspected. That absence is not a failure of imagination; it is a record of loss. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or a warning. Someone removed it, perhaps to clear pasture, build a wall or erase an unwanted witness. The empty slope continues the story because forgetting is not the same as understanding.
